Make an appointment for an exclusive visit to the Tropism Art & Science Collective Studio in Loods 6 in Amsterdam to see the artists at work at their current projects. The works of art may differ from abstract patterns to magic realism still lives and hyperbolic panoramas to stacked trees, There is quite a variation of styles and techniques being used, but all do have the inspiration of the natural world in common.
Tropism stands for the ability of an organism to turn to a stimulus.
In the studio the Tropists work on stopmotion animation, photography, installations and music productions, so during a visit one can see the artists in action as well. Witness magic still lifes and fantastic landscapes being created while intriguing soundscapes are composed simultaneous. Hundreds archived works can be shown along with our art- and animation films and documentations of our light installations.
Besides art there are also museum worthy taxidermy objets, fossils, scientific antiques, film props and miniature sets to be admired. Fresh art for sale in the studio out of the hands of the artist or acquire miniature sets just after the shoot of a scene out of the newest Tropistic animation film. Imagine to obtain the first artist copy of a still life together with the props of that still life, straight out of the mise en scène. Art and objects with a story to tell.
In the Tropism Lab in the Flower Art Museum, workshops are organised as well.
Currently one can apply for the workshops; still life photography, 'painting with light in layers',
'Infra red landscape photography' and 'Hyperbolic panoramas'.
