Embezzled Eclipse
Embezzled Eclipse (in Dutch: Verdonkeremaande Zonsverduistering) is Robin Noorda's first 4K time-lapse movie.
The solar eclips expedition to Mount Emei, China July 2009 ended up in a foggy and drizzling summit. A weird gathering of Chinese in pastel plastic raincoats chanted oh's and ah's during a super diffuse and magical extraterrestrial fade-out and fade-in.
As Alfred Marseille once wrote on Tropism: Tropism gets stuck where others continue. The nature of perception is a main theme in the Tropists work. The Tropists occupy the fringes, where things might or might not be observed. A Tropistic work is about marking that boundary - the place where the visible becomes invisible or where the invisible may just about (fail to) surface; the imperceptible changes that eventually turn a situation completely on its head.
It was quite a Tropistic experience during the solar eclipse expedition to Mount Emei as it was clouded with a drizzling fog.
