MENNO SCHRAP
Menno Schrap (1963) started playing with computers in 1978. He build his first program in 1979 for learning his English words at school. After a short study of the History of Arts at the University of Amsterdam, he went to the Art academy to study Graphical Design. There he makes the combination between art and computers. After one and half year he changed his study and helped as a student to start-up a new study: Image- & Media-Technology at the Utrecht University of Arts.
At Veronica Broadcast Organisation he was the first AVID-editor of the Netherlands.
In the nighties he works at the edge of design and technology for several organisations like: V2_Organsiation, Beamsystems and Bright Alley. He was interim-manager for the Amsterdam Historical Museum, and during that period he was responsible for the maintenance of the video and interactive installations, but also for the development of the image technology for the temporary exhibitions.
In 2008 he started at ArtEZ, university of the arts, teaching moving- and interactive media.
Recently he developed a summer-school about cultural entrepreneurship at ArtEZ Zwolle.
Since 2012 he is involved in all Tropism projects.
